Prostate cancer than strikes at the very heart of how many men view themselves. In any event here are a few of the most common questions concerning prostate cancer.

Metastatic colon cancer is one of the leading causes of death from cancers and tumors in the USA and unfortunately the survival rate for those diagnosed with it is below 10%. If you have been diagnosed with a metastatic colon cancer then your life will change, but you should always remember that there is chance that you'll be cured and try to fight the illness as much as you can. Colon cancer occurs when a tumor appears in the colon or in the rectum. The colon and the rectum together form the large intestine. First, only a tumor appears either in the colon or in the rectum, but if it is not treated then the tumor will spread, and in time it will affect other organs, such as the liver and the lungs, causing tumors to appear in them too.

Metastatic breast cancer, owing to its nature, requires extensive treatment. Therapies like chemotherapy, hormonal treatment, immune therapy alone with regular mammograms, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs, bone scans etc. are necessary. The treatments can be purpose-specific. For treating the whole body, systemic therapies have to be implemented; for treatment of specific organs, local treatments like mastectomy and lumpectomy are done, and for alleviating pain, therapies along with oral aspirin intake are adopted. A lot of research is going into slowing down and completely stopping further advancement of metastatic breast cancer. Spend the rest of your life being happy, and taking regular medication. Happiness is known for prolonging life, too.

Metastatic lung cancer occurs when malignant cancer cells move from the original tumor and begin invading surrounding tissue. This results in the cancerous cells entering the blood stream and spreading from the primary tumor (the original one) to a new tumor, called the secondary tumor. These new tumors may even be in parts of the body away from the lungs. The lungs and the lymphatic system are under attack by cancerous cells. As a result, the white blood cells that fight off infection and diseases are also under siege. This means that while the patient has metastatic lung cancer, the patient's body will be more prone to infection because their white blood cells are too few to fight off the new illness.

Treatment plans may include surgery wherein the cancerous growths are removed from the body; radiation during which affected cells are attacked with pinpoint x-ray technology; and chemotherapy which exposes the patient to a course of intravenous drug therapy designed to stop the growth of cancer cells. In most cases, however, a combination of several therapies will be used in order to achieve the greatest chance of success. There are also experimental and holistic therapies that patients often try in conjunction with other therapies and under the guidance of their doctor. As the needs of each patient vary, so do the treatment plans.
